what do the PROFESSIONALS say?

“As a father and grandfather who has used Rabbi Schtroks as a Mohel on many occasions, and also as a physician who has participated in many surgical procedures, I am very happy to commend Rabbi Schtroks’s work as a Mohel, both from the technical point of view, including the speed of the procedure which is a plus and also from the excellent results that we have experienced.

In addition he always has excellent presentation explaining the rituals often to people with not much previous knowledge. He is also sensitive to parents fears and apprehensions which is only natural with a procedure such as this.

I have no hesitation to recommend him highly as a Mohel and for that matter as a teacher and Shliach, he has always been a multifaceted multi-talented spokesman for the Jewish community.”

“Rabbi Falik Schtroks is an excellent mohel. I have observed his technique close up, as a father and as a sandek, and can tell you that he does an excellent job.

When choosing a mohel, I  wanted someone who could do a bris according to Halacha. I am a physician, so I also wanted a mohel who would do a bris that was acceptable to me from a medical viewpoint. Rabbi Schtroks is the mohel who satisfies both of those criteria.

I would recommend, without any hesitation,  Rabbi Schtroks as a mohel. I would  even recommended him if you weren’t Jewish and wanted your son circumcised.”

“Rabbi Schtroks performed a traditional Bris on my son over 30 years ago! His care for the child before and after the procedure as well as his attention to technical detail were much appreciated.”

“May 1992 was a very exciting, busy time for our young family having just recently arrived in Edmonton with both my wife and I working.  At the time there was no Kosher Mohel in Edmonton and there were mixed reports (being a new father I did a little research about outcomes) regarding the technical capabilities of a Kosher Mohel elsewhere in Alberta. After enlisting the assistance of Rabbi Ari Drehlich, our Chabad Rabbi, Rabbi Drehlich connected us with Rabbi Schtroks  who came very highly recommended. In fact at the time I made inquiries with a pediatric urologist in Vancouver who I 'cold called', and who said there were no concerns about Rabbi Schtroks's technical abilities; on the contrary he was well respected.

We were new to the Edmonton community; but as is often the case in expatriate South African communities, the entire Jewish South African community rallied around us providing tables, chairs, food, drink and considerably more than the requisite Minyan. We were hoping that the Mohel would not only have technical abilities, but an ability to interact with the crowd. Rabbi Schtroks exceeded our wildest expectations explaining methodically, confidently and patiently what he was doing, the significance of each step and then carried each out without hesitation, with firmness, confidence and competence. Our son healed well and quickly. The procedure itself was over in the blink of an eye. Far from mentioning any inconvenience around having to travel to Edmonton,He even stayed around the night and gave us very clear instruction regarding managing the dressing. To this day it was a very memorable, wonderful mitzvah he helped us carry out. As if this wasn't enough, he did not expect significant remuneration, given our age and stage in life and we remain grateful.”
